Leadership Training Day Melbourne, Florida

Leadership Training Day will be a one day conference experience for young women ages 12-16. Such leadership workshops and seminars are becoming the signature programs for the newly launched, The Garvin Valdez Group, LLC.Leadership workshops and seminars and weekend camp experiences hosted by the Garvin Valdez Group provides young women with a safe nurturing experience and a well-rounded quality program emphasizing fun, friendships, self-esteem, creativity, and community service. The experience allows participants to discover their full potential and provides the participants with opportunities to provide input on what topics are of importance to them to have discussed during the conference or weekend camp experiences. One workshop track that is done consistently at workshops, seminars and camps hosted by Venita Garvin Valdez, President of the Garvin Valdez Group is a track on domestic violence and sexual assault. As violence against teens continue to rise, Garvin Valdez feels, it is critical whenever there is an opportunity to convene a group of young people to speak to the issues of violence against women, men, and children or more specifically teen dating violence. Information on this topic can include but is not limited to: recognizing red flags of an unhealthy friendship, the cycle of violence, how to get help if you are a victim of violence or abuse and community resources available.

Times and Dates:

Leadership Training Day in Orlando, Florida will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011. The time of the one day conference is 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Registration begins at 9:30 am.

About the Conference Site Location:

The conference site location is set for the Crowne Plaza Melbourne Hotel located at 2605 North A1A, Indialantic, Florida 32903. The one day conference will be held in a banquet style meeting room that can accommodate fifteen to fifty girls with ease. The hotel will allow utilization of the pool and access to the beach. Girls are encouraged to participate in the water activities that will be scheduled during the afternoon portion of the day with the signed permission form of parent/guardian.
